A wonderful staying hurdler, his winning sequence of seventeen consecutive jumps races beat a record set by Sir Ken in 1953. He won the World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival four times, among eight other Grade 1 victories. Owned by the Stewart family, and trained by Paul Nicholls at Ditcheat, Somerset, he was ridden in most of his races by Ruby Walsh.
