The highest-rated three-year-old filly to be trained in Ireland for over two decades, Alpha Centauri won consecutive Group 1 races in the Irish 1000 Guineas, Coronation Stakes, Falmouth Stakes and, against top-class colts, the Prix Jacques le Marois. Owned and bred by the Niarchos Family, she is by Mastercraftsman out of Alpha Lupi by Rahy. This makes her a great grand-daughter of the exceptional miler Miesque, who also sported the famous Niarchos silks. Trained by Jessica Harrington in County Kildare, Alpha Centauri was ridden in all her races by Colm O'Donoghue.
